Storm peparedness tax holiday shopping list

Wednesday, May 19th, 2010

VA is running a sales tax holiday for hurricane preparedness May 25th through may 31st.  Many of the items are things you and I use on a daily basis anyway, so here’s a chance to save some money and get one over on the man while stocking up. All of these items and more are on the full list at http://www.tax.virginia.gov

Power sources:
For us guys there’s portable generators and power inverters.  For the ladies there’s AAA, AA, C, D, 9-volt and cell phone batteries.

Light sources:
Flashlights for tag, lanterns for the camp site and glow sticks for the storm party raves.

Fire related:
Gas cans and manual can openers (get one with a bottle opener) for the ones you start for fun. Smoke detectors, fire extinguishers and first aid kits for the ones you didn’t mean to start.

For disposing of the bodies:
Tarps, plastic sheeting, bungee cords, rope, ratchet straps, duct tape.
