Warped Tour - July 15, 2008
I “won” 
tickets to Warped Tour yesterday and I was checking out this year’s band line-up:
blah blah emo, Against Me!, more emo, Angels and Airwaves, blah blah screamo, emo blah, lmao Cobra Starship, blah blah nobodies, screamo, Gym Class Heroes, Jack’s Mannequin, emo, Katy Perry, Lordz, MC Chris, blah blah, Pennywise, Reel Big Fish, emo emo emo emo emo emo emo emo.
At first I thought, “Katy Perry? How the hell did some Top 40 princess wind up on the Warped Tour? What the hell kinda crap is that!?” But then I got to thinking about what her hit song is. And I subconsciously cross-referenced with the fact that every drunk redneck I’ve ever seen has said “Turn it up!” anytime I’ve ever heard Sweet Home Alabama in public. So yeah, I’m thinking the same sort of phenomena might hold true for Warped Tour. And if you don’t know who or what I’m talking about, go watch her video.
Kind of a related story, the only reason I’ve seen this video is because of the hideous new MySpace log-in page. I saw the song title and thought someone had done a cover version of the cute, quirky Jill Sobule tune. I guess my ears were disappointed but my eyes weren’t?
Anyway, I’m definitely taking my camera to the show. I will follow up on this. If you’re going to Warped Tour, let me know!

Too bad this thing’s on a weekday. Warped Tour has always been fun, minus the “it’s always 115 degrees that day and water is like $5 a bottle.”
